SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ., June 20, 2005-- Vcommerce Corporation, the leader in proven, on-demand commerce solutions, today announced that it has entered into a partnership with CNET Channel, a leading independent source of on-demand technology product information. The agreement enables companies that use Vcommerce's online commerce and fulfillment solutions to display CNET Channel's standardized product descriptions and images as part of Vcommerce's solutions. CNET Channel's industry-leading data improves the shopping experience, allowing end-user customers to make better-informed online purchase decisions.
CNET Channel offers data on products in a wide range of technology categories, including computer systems, memory, software, video, audio and cameras. CNET Channel's robust content is available through Vcommerce's complete e-commerce solution - which includes order capture, merchandising, supplier management and drop-ship fulfillment - as well as in Vcommerce's back-end order fulfillment solutions. The content will supplement Vcommerce's global catalog, which offers over 1.5 million SKUs in such categories as electronics, books, movies, music, gifts, appliances, housewares, health and beauty, toys, sporting goods and more.
The relationship will provide all Vcommerce clients with CNET-standardized product names, marketing descriptions, shipping weights and product images. In addition to the information already in Vcommerce's global catalog, detailed data such as dimensions in depth and height are available to clients on an as-needed basis.
Vcommerce clients, such as BDI Laguna, welcome the new addition. According to Steven Silverman of BDI Laguna, "Our relationship with Vcommerce is a valued part of our business. The fact that we can offer CNET Channel content means that we can further improve the end-customer's buying experience."
"This partnership provides us with an opportunity to reach Vcommerce's large and growing client base," said Scott Danish, vice president of global marketing at CNET Channel. "We are happy to join forces with such a partner-oriented company and one of the leaders in on-demand e-commerce."
The partnership is part of Vcommerce's Ecosystem, which was introduced in a separate announcement today. The Vcommerce Ecosystem is a community of partners that delivers superior end-customer experiences by driving innovation in direct-to-consumer initiatives through robust technical solutions, best-practice business processes and deep industry knowledge.
"We continue to see great response from the market for our Vcommerce Ecosystem strategy, and we are confident our partnership with CNET Channel will be a great fit within our industry-leading solutions," said Vcommerce CEO Dan Clarke. "Partnering with CNET Channel builds on the strength of Vcommerce's platform and services, augmenting our product data with content that is highly regarded in the marketplace."
"This relationship with CNET Channel underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional, flexible solutions," added Vcommerce President and CTO Dan Kennedy. "CNET Channel complements our on-demand commerce solutions with on-demand information on technology products. Together, we enable our clients to specify the exact technology, services, expertise and content they need to be successful with their e-commerce or kiosk initiatives."
